The Chicago Public League Girls Soccer Championship is the annual city championship match for girls' high school soccer teams competing in the Chicago Public League (CPL), the governing body for interscholastic athletics among Chicago's public high schools. Established in 1994,[1] the girls’ soccer final was part of the league's broader expansion of girls’ varsity athletics and quickly became one of the most competitive and widely followed high school soccer events in the city.
Over the years, the championship has produced standout performances and intense rivalries, especially between selective enrollment schools such as Lane Tech and Whitney M. Young Magnet High School. Lane Tech has been the dominant team in CPL girls soccer history, winning a record 16 championships, including 11 of the last 12 between 2013 and 2025. The CPL final is typically held in late May and often features teams that go on to compete in the IHSA state tournament.

Windy City Cup
The Windy City Cup, formerly known as the Chicago Cup, is a separate postseason soccer tournament for CPL girls’ teams not qualifying for the top-tier city championship bracket. It provides a competitive platform for developing programs to compete for a citywide title and gain broader recognition. The tournament has been contested intermittently since at least 2002.
