CUBA Platform is an open source Java framework for enterprise software development, distributed under the Apache 2.0 license. It combines a number of low-level Java frameworks into a full stack platform, to provide a RAD solution[2] for delivering enterprise-ready CRUD applications[3][4].

    Overview[edit]

CUBA Platform is designed to develop standard three-tier applications. The platform provides a number of functionalities commonly used in an enterprise application:

    • A set of ready to use visual components
    • Data filtering
    • Security subsystem
    • Single sign-on support
    • Logs of user actions
    • Multi-language interface
    • Generic REST API

    Technology stack[edit]

CUBA Platform combines the following technologies:

    • Spring Framework — core infrastructure for the middle tier and the application’s client blocks
    • Vaadin — leveraged by the default web client to display the generic user interface
    • Polymer — used by the alternative web client that interacts with the REST APIs
    • EclipseLink — the underlying ORM implementation
    • Gradle — the build automation system
