CUTS International
CUTS International is an Indian international advocacy and research think tank focused on representing voices of global south in the international arena. It was founded in 1984 by Pradeep S Mehta in Rajasthan as a consumer advocacy organization. Over time it grew into an organization representing consumer voices on different issues at multi stakeholder levels.[1]
CUTS International operates in multiple countries with offices and centres in Geneva, Hanoi, Accra, Lusaka, Nairobi, Washington D.C., New Delhi, Kolkata. It's is Headquartered in Jaipur, India.[2] CUTS has several centres based on the programs they operate. These centres are Centre for Human Development (CHD),[3] Calcutta Resource Centre,[4] Centre for Consumer Action, Research & Training (CUTS CART),[5] Centre for International Trade, Economics & Environment (CUTS CITEE),[6] and Centre for Competition, Investment & Economic Regulation (CUTS CCIER).[7] CUTS also has partnerships with several renowned international and local research, advocacy, and civil society groups like The European University Institute, in Florence, Italy [8]among other local and international partners.[9]
