Cabatangan
Cabatangan is a barrio or barangay in Zamboanga City, Philippines. It is bordered by Pasonanca (north) and Santa Maria (south). The barrio used to be the regional complex of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao until 2001. The now abandoned ARMM Legislative Building, together with the statue of Apo Sumayang Galura, is one of the attractions in the barrio. Cabatangan is known for the siege and hostage of its residents by the Moro National Liberation Front in November 27, 2001, which lasted for a day and hostages were freed. Bong Bue, a local journalist, was one of the residents being hostaged by a terrorist group similar to Abu-Sayyaf.
