Cabrini Class of 1990
Cabrini Class of 1990 refers to a graduating class from St. Francis Cabrini in Allen Park, Michigan. The class has been cited for creating the racial slur "wigger". The supposed slur is in reference to a person who is of European ancestry or Caucasian roots but acts in accordance with someone who is from a stereotyped African American inner city. Some have called this more of an urban stereotype as opposed to any specific race. In 1990, St. Francis Cabrini, in an effort to bring in more revenue for the school, decided to begin bringing in students from inner city Detroit. The school is located in Allen Park, Michigan, which at the time had a predominantly white (92%) population. The seven youths that were brought into the school received bullying from members of the 1990 graduating class, which involved the use of the slur "wigger". The events culminated with an attack on a white student before a senior dance on the night of April 27, 1990.
