Darren has worked on the FX television series Fargo, and appeared in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada, but was uncredited. When Pettis was only nine years old, he grew a fascination with the film and television industry after watching various forms of entertainment such as Cartoons, and various films.

He attended W.H. Croxford High School in his hometown of Airdrie, and graduated from the school in 2018.

Career[edit]

2012-16: YouTube channel[edit]

On January 22, 2012, Pettis created his own YouTube channel titled "TwistedFalcon", where he originally began to upload video content related to Video games, reviews, and video blogs. In 2014, he created a web comedy talk series on his channel named FalconCast where he was usually joined by lifetime friend Nicholas Favel. The show mainly focused on Pettis and a friend (primarily Favel) as they told comedic stories, sang original/improvisational songs, and interviewed various other YouTube users. Furthermore, FalconCast had multiple sponsorships including Mountain Dew, KeySmart, Ting, and Namecheap.[5][6] The show ran for a total of three seasons and forty-three episodes.

That same year, Pettis and Favel created another web comedy series Brewer Breakfast. The show was similar in style to FalconCast, although Brewer Breakfast had a smaller running time, and had a set topic for each video, where as FalconCast had multiple topics discussed in the same episode.

A few months later, Pettis made a guest appearance on an episode of Good Mythical Morning hosted by Rhett and Link. He again made an apperance in 2015, with the latter being an archive footage appearance.

In 2016, Pettis began creating Fancy Boys, a situational comedy series inspired by Seinfeld and focused on two men named Aaron and Barry, and their day-to-day mishaps. As of August 2018, the show only has one episode.

Two years later, Pettis began to write articles for popular culture and entertainment website Screen Rant.

2016-present: Film criticism[edit]

In January 2016, Pettis started to upload film review videos on his YouTube channel. He renewed both new and old films, and stated in several videos that his inspiration to create film reviews was after watching multiple videos on YouTube from fellow film critic Chris Stuckmann.

He additionally began writing written film reviews on film criticism website Daily Film Fix[7], but eventually transitioned to his own website called Caillou Pettis Movie Reviews. As of August 2018, Pettis has more than 200,000 video views on YouTube, and more than one hundred reviews of films of various genres.[8][9] In October 2018, Pettis began writing film reviews for Starburst Magazine, one of the most popular British entertainment Magazines.[10]

Furthermore, Pettis makes yearly update videos on his collection of Blu-ray films. Currently, he has uploaded three videos regarding the collection. From time to time, Pettis additionally creates videos of himself showcasing new Blu-rays he picked up, and also occasionally makes unboxing videos on Blu-rays, video games, and vinyl music albums.

Additionally, Pettis has a critic page on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.
