Calamari is a Polish web-based and mobile application for team time tracking and management of employee leave, including maternity leave, paternity leave, sick leave and holidays[1]. It is designed for HR Managers who are in charge of global teams located in various countries and who are subject to differential local labour laws[2].

Along with Zoho Recruit by Zoho Corporation and Workable, Calamari is the third most popular HR software used in the United Kingdom[3][4]. The service is compatible with various team management platforms, including Slack[5], GSuite, Office 365, and Basecamp.

History[edit]

Calamari was founded in 2014 in Warsaw, Poland[6]. In 2015, Calamari was one of the first companies that integrated iBeacon technology into an attendance tracking application.

Product and features[edit]

Calamari began as basic, web-based PTO tracking software[7]. It is now a fully operational time tracking and absence management web and mobile application[8] available for Android and iOS. The iBeacon technology allows employees to check in and check out at their workplace automatically, without it being necessary for them to do so manually.
