Cale Millen
Cale Millen (born 2000) is an American former college football player who played quarterback and defensive back for the Oregon Ducks, Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, and the Connecticut Huskies football teams.
Early life and high school
Millen grew up in Snoqualmie, Washington, and attended Mount Si High School, where he was a three-year starter at quarterback. He finished his high school career with 104 touchdown passes, 8,288 passing yards, and a 69.7% completion percentage.[1] As a senior, he threw for 51 touchdowns and 3,807 yards (75.9% completion) while rushing for 453 yards and three scores, earning First Team All-State honors from the Seattle Times and KingCo League Co-Offensive MVP.
College career
Millen began at the University of Oregon, redshirting in 2019 and appearing in three games on special teams in 2020–21, recording two tackles.
He transferred to Northern Arizona University for 2021, appearing in seven games and completing 7 of 15 passes for 42 yards and one touchdown.
In December 2021, Millen transferred to the University of Connecticut, joining the Connecticut Huskies football team.[2][3]
In 2022, he appeared in 12 games as a backup, often in "wildcat" packages that drew defensive attention due to his athleticism.[4] He completed 6 of 15 passes for 31 yards and one touchdown, while rushing for 100 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries (including a 49-yard TD run at FIU).[5]
Before 2023 spring practice, Millen transitioned to defensive back and special teams under head coach Jim Mora, who cited his size (6-3/210), speed, and athleticism.[6] He recorded limited defensive stats (e.g., one solo tackle in 2023).[7]
Millen completed a master's degree in sports management.[8]
Personal life
Millen comes from a football family with NFL ties through his father Hugh Millen and brother Clay Millen.[9]
