Cameron Bonar is a New Zealand orienteer who competes for North West Orienteering Club. He has represented New Zealand at the Junior World Orienteering Championships and at IOF World Cup rounds, and competed for New Zealand at the 2026 FISU World University Championship Orienteering.[1][2]
Career
Bonar came through New Zealand's junior and secondary schools system with North West Orienteering Club, being named to the New Zealand Secondary Schools senior boys team in 2019.[3]
He represented New Zealand at the Junior World Orienteering Championships in 2022.[4]
In 2026, Bonar competed for New Zealand at the 2026 FISU World University Championship Orienteering in Vila Real, Portugal. According to his IOF Eventor profile, he placed 26th in his KO Sprint qualification heat on 28 July, 101st in the sprint final on 31 July, and 68th in the middle distance final on 1 August, finishing in 35:05.[5]
He was also selected to represent New Zealand at IOF World Cup rounds, including the 2026 World Cup 3 men's team, following an appeals process that led to the team being reselected.[6]

The IOF World Ranking profile lists Bonar as a New Zealand athlete, age 24, competing under the New Zealand Orienteering Federation.[7]
