"We regret to inform you that Camp Deer Run will not be re-opening for the 2010 season. Our property in Pine Bush, New York is on the market for sale." [3]

The 130-acre (0.53 km2) camp sponsored Operation Purple, a program run by the National Military Family Association, which helps children of the U.S. servicemen cope with their absence.[4] Each camp session is one to two weeks long. In July 2007, Camp Deer Run hosted 59 campers whose parents were serving in the armed forces.[5]
