The Canadian Future Party is a prospective federal political party in Canada that has been recognized as eligible to be registered by Elections Canada, pending it standing a candidate in a general election or by-election. The party's formation was announced in September 2023 by Centre Ice Canadians, a group that had previously been known as Centre Ice Conservatives and had been founded originally in April 2022 as a moderate pressure group within the Conservative Party of Canada. The group left the party as a result of the election of Pierre Poilievre as leader and changed its name to "Centre Ice Canadians" in an attempt to appeal to disaffected Liberals as well as Conservatives. The new party applied to be registered by Elections Canada and was recognized by the agency as an "eligible party" on July 22, 2024. Former New Brunswick cabinet minister Dominic Cardy has served as interim leader since 2023. The party plans to hold its founding convention in the fall of 2024.
