Cardiganshire

Cardiganshire (Welsh: Sir Aberteifi) was the historic name of Ceredigion.
It was abolished in 1974 and made part of Dyfed. On 1 April 1996 it was recreated but a day later it took the new name Ceredigion.
Its county town was Cardigan.
