Carla "KC" Hanson is an American politician who currently serves as the Chairperson of the Democratic Party of Oregon.[1]
Hanson has a history of progressive and liberal activism and has previously served as chair of the Multnomah County Democratic Party.[2]
Hanson is an LGBT+ activist who was active in 1990's Oregon with No on Hate PAC, No on 9 PAC and No on 13 PAC, political action committees formed to defend the LGBT community from anti-gay initiatives of that decade. Hanson was a founding member of the Oregon Voter Rights Coalition, an election reform organization formed in 2005, and served as its Executive Director 2005–2007. Hanson was a PLEO (Party Leader or Elected Official) Delegate to the 2008 and 2012 Democratic National Conventions, and was an unpledged delegate to the 2020 Democratic National Convention.
