Carlos Hoenen was a German photographer who lived in Brazil during the 19th century. Little is known about his biography, only that he kept a photography atelier in São Paulo called Photographia Allemã (German Photography). Inaugurated in 1875, it remained active for ten years, a period in which it is presumed that he took more than nine thousand photos.[1]
