Carmen Harra (born March 25, 1955) is a Romanian-American singer, psychologist, author and intuitive counselor.[1].

Early Life[edit]

Harra was born in Bistrița, Romania and began singing at the age of 16 under the name Carmen Mureșan[2]. From 1979 to 1988, she was part of a Romanian girl group called Trio Expres[3].

Career[edit]

In 1988, Harra moved to the United States and become a psychologist[4], relationship expert[5][6], author[7], and intuitive counselor[8] under the name Carmen Harra. Her first book, Everyday Karma, was released by Ballantine Books in 2002. The book became an international bestseller and was translated into over 20 languages. From 2002 to the present, Harra had authored a total of eight books[9]. In 2012, she was a speaker at Hay House’s I Can Do It! conference in Washington, D.C.

TV Appearances[edit]

On October 31, 2008, Harra appeared on The View alongside numerologist Glynis McCants to discuss the 2008 presidential election. On May 12, 2010, Harra was interviewed about her intuitive abilities on New York Nightly News with Chuck Scarborough[10]. In 2012 and 2013, she was a guest on CBSKCAL 9 News offering advice on healthy relationships[11], staying focused in a crisis[12], and affirmations[13]. On July 18, 2013, she was on Good Morning America discussing Kate Middleton’s pregnancy. From 2010 to 2019, Harra has made four separate appearances on NBC’s Weekend Today in New York with anchor Pat Battle[14][15][16][17]

Radio Shows[edit]

From 2003 to the present, Harra has hosted several radio shows including: Wisdom from Within (2003 - 2005, HealthyLife.net; 2006 - 2009, Contact Talk Radio), We Are One (2010 - 2013, Hay House Radio[20]), and Miracle Guidance for Everyday Life (2015 - 2017, WABC Radio[21]. She currently hosts a live, call-in show on OMTimes Radio during which she offers guidance to callers[22].

Publications[edit]

The New York Post featured Harra as a Karma Queen in 2003[23] and as a spiritual guru and celebrity psychic in 2009[24]. New York Magazine featured her work as an intuitive counselor in 2006[25] and 2013[26]. In 2020, UK’s Chat it’s fate magazine also featured Harra’s work as an intuitive counselor[27]. Both Daily Mail UK[28] and The Sun[29] featured Harra's relationship advice in 2022.

Discography[edit]

In 1980, Harra released her first vinyl record when she was part of a girl group called Trio Expres. The band released seven albums[30] with Electrecord, the national record label of Romania: Doar un singur vis (1980), Vino la dans (1982), 2+2=5 (1983), Eu și tu (1984), Trio Expres (1985), Expres (1985), and Pentru tine (1988). After the fall of the communist regime in Romania in December 1989, the Trio Expres group broke up. Harra continued her music career as a solo artist and released three more albums[31] with three record labels: Să dansăm Lambada (1990, Intercont Music), 10 (1991, EuroStar), and Let's Sing And Pray (1992, Electrecord). After a thirteen-year break, Harra started producing music with her sister, Mona Mureșan[32], and released two new albums[33] with the record label Miramid Communication: Feel The Magic (2005) and Carmen Harra (2006). Then, in 2019, Harra released the album Behind Closed Doors[34] with the record label EuroStar.
