Indian YouTuber Ajey Nagar, better known online as CarryMinati, known for comedic skits, satirical parodies and diss songs. Since 2014 he has uploaded over 174 videos on the YouTube platform.[1][lower-alpha 1] Having accumulated over 2.5 billion video views, CarryMinati's channel ranks as the 89th-most-subscribed channel on the platform,[2] and Asia's most-subscribed channel by an individual creator,[3] his channel's videos attracted significant media coverage.[4]
CarryMinati uploaded his first video, recording gameplay of CS:GO, and uploaded it to his YouTube channel, which was called "AddictedA1" at the time. He later switched to a commentary style of videos, doing roasts and rants in front of a camera when he noticed that his gaming content wasn't gaining much attention.[5]
In May 2020, CarryMinati uploaded a roast video titled "YouTube Vs TikTok - The End" which caused controversy on YouTube India. The video was removed by YouTube for violations against the platform's terms of service, citing reasons such as cyberbullying and harassment.[6] On 5 June, CarryMinati uploaded the music video "Yalgaar" as a further response.[7] On 10 July, CarryMinati uploaded the video titled "The Art Of Bad Words," allegedly taking a dig at the streaming platform YouTube for taking down his controversial video.[8]
