Early life and education
Gordon was born in South Perth, Western Australia. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Edith Cowan University in 1997 and a Master of Public Health from the University of Queensland in 2004.[3]
She has completed additional professional education in governance and risk management through the Governance Institute of Australia (2013), People Analytics at the University of Pennsylvania (2019), and Workplace Analytics and Artificial Intelligence at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2024).[4]
Career
Gordon has held roles in change management, advisory, and consulting across public and private sectors. Her past positions include Senior Consultant at IBM, Director at the Australian Department of Health and Ageing, Adviser at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and change leadership roles at QBE Insurance and Sydney Water. She has also served as Change Director at Organisational Intelligence Group Pty Ltd and as a business mentor with McCarthy Mentoring.
Through Organisational Intelligence Group Pty Ltd, Gordon’s work examines the structural and cultural factors contributing to burnout and leadership strain.[5] She has argued that burnout in senior roles is frequently linked to systemic design rather than individual resilience.[6]
