Gary John Humphrys (born 12 April 1951)[1] is an Australian businessman and company director.

Humphrys studied at the NSW Institute of Technology and qualified as a chartered accountant. He subsequently worked for Utah Coal and Mount Isa Mines. After more than 20 years in the mining sector, Humphrys moved to the energy sector in 1998, appointed Chief Financial Officer of Stanwell Corporation. In 2005 he became Chief Executive Officer of Stanwell, retiring in 2007.[2]

In 2007 Humphrys chaired the Audit and Risk Management Committee of the University of the Sunshine Coast.[3]

Humphrys is currently a director of HESTA[4] and a trustee of Mary Aikenhead Ministries.[5] He was previously a director of Ergon Energy[6] and St Vincent's Health Australia.[7]

In December 2010 Humphrys, as Chair of SEQWGM, provided critical advice to Queensland Water Resources Minister Stephen Robertson prior to the 2010–11 Queensland floods.[8]
