Theropods are a sub-order of saurischian dinosaurs. Most theropods are carnivorous (all carnivorous dinosaurs are theropods), but a few groups, such as the therizinosaurs, ornithomimosaurs, oviraptorosaurs, and troodontids were possibly omnivorous or herbivorous.
Extant member of the group are represented by the birds.
