Cathy Adengo is a Ugandan corporate affairs and business sustainability professional who serves as Head of Sustainability at Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited, the largest commercial bank in Uganda by assets. She was appointed to this position in June 2021. Before that, for a period of four years, she was the corporate communications manager at the same bank.[1][2]
Background and education[edit]
Adengo holds a Bachelor of Business Management degree, awarded by the University of Kent, in the United Kigdom. She also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Sustainability Management, awarded by the University of Cambridge, in the Untied Kingdom as well.[1][2]
Work experience[edit]
As of June 2021, Adengo had over 18 years of business experience in various spheres including business sustainability, corporate communications, corporate social responsibility, government and public affairs, risk management and reputation management. She has worked at Saatchi & Saatchi, British American Tobacco Uganda, Uganda Communications Commission, Tullow Oil and Stanbic Bank Uganda.[1][2]
While working as the corporate communications manager at Stanbic Bank Uganda, the bank was recognized by Brand Africa as the most admired financial services brand in Uganda in 2020. She received the award on behalf of the bank.[3]
In her capacity as Head of Sustainability, Adengo is expected to lead "the development and implementation of Stanbic Bank Uganda's sustainability strategy and environmental, social and governance (ESG) priorities".[4]
