Ceirion Dewar
Ceirion Dewar, also known as Cei Dewar, is a British bishop in the Confessing Anglican Church.[1]
Dewar is currently a missionary bishop in the Missionary Diocese of Providence (UK), part of the Confessing Anglican Church.[1]
Dewar is opposed to women in church leadership. In a January 2026 interview on TalkTV, he criticised the appointment of Sarah Mullally as Archbishop of Canterbury.[2]
Dewar is associated with far-right activist Tommy Robinson.[3][4][5] He spoke at Robinson's September 2025 "Unite The Kingdom" rally in Trafalgar Square.[6][7] Dewar's criticism of a response by Arun Arora, the Bishop of Kirkstall, to Robinson's December 2025 Christmas service was reported in the Church Tines.[8][9]
In March 2026, Dewar wrote an open letter to King Charles III calling on the King to end the "erosion of Britain’s Christian inheritance". [10] The letter received 8891 signatures (as of 18 April 2026) and was reported in various media including GB News and Christian Today.[11][12][13][14]
