Centerbase was established by software entrepreneur John Forbes.[3] Early product direction drew on feedback from law firms and on perspectives Forbes gathered from his daughter while she was in law school. Products and features
Centerbase’s primary offering is a cloud platform that combines timekeeping, billing, matter management, accounting, and customer relationship management.[2] Among its notable tools is Automated Time Capture, which monitors work performed in applications such as Microsoft Word and Outlook and records those activities for review as potential billable time.[15]
In 2023, Centerbase added profitability reporting that enables firms to analyze revenue, costs, and billable hours.[16][5] In 2024, the platform incorporated a native document management system built on Microsoft SharePoint technology, adding version control, optical character recognition, and e-signature capabilities.[17]
