The Central Coast Premier League is a regional Australian amateur association football league, comprising teams from the Central Coast region of New South Wales. The competition is run under the Central Coast Football body, an associate of Football NSW - a member federation of Football Federation Australia. It therefore fits below the national A-League and NSW wide divisions including National Premier Leagues NSW, making it a level 6 league in the Australian League System. The major sponsor for the Central Coast Premier League is Battlewin Sports and as such the competition is often referred to as the Battlewin Premier League.[1]
History[edit]
The Central Coast Premier League was founded in 1965 with Wyong taking out the inaugural championship, finishing in first place.[2] The first finals were held the next year where now-defunct club Brisbania would take the inaugural premiership.[3]
Format[edit]
The competition consists of 10 teams from around the Central Coast region of New South Wales. Each team plays each other twice, to form an 18-round, round robin format. 4 teams progress to a finals series. The final two teams play-off in a grand final to determine the winner.[1]
