Central Trade Park (CTP) is a real estate developer and manager of customised industrial and logistics parks headquartered in the Czech Republic. The company operates primarily in countries throughout Central and Eastern Europe,[3] including the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary. The company is listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange and is included in the AScX-index.

History

CTP was founded by Dutch entrepreneur Rémon Vos in 1998 with the goal to develop industrial properties in the Czech Republic and CEE.[4] He was joined by business partners Johan Brakema and Eddy Maas but became the sole shareholder and owner of the company after Brakema left the company a few years later and Maas passed away in 2016.[5]

CTP’s first business park was built in Humpolec, after which several parks followed in Modřice, Brno and Plzeň.[6]

In 2005, CTP launched construction of its flagship office park Spielberk Office Centre in Brno, which is the location of the Spielberk Towers.[6] One of the towers is used as Courtyard by Marriott Brno hotel, of which the official opening took place in 2016 and which was the first hotel development for the company.

Current operations

The company has developed an integrated network of business parks of over 70 parks throughout countries in CEE, with its largest market share in the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary.[7][8] The company also operates in Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Serbia. CTP's portfolio was valued at $6.4 billion at June 30, 2020.[9]

On March 25, 2021, CTP made its entrance on Euronext Amsterdam.[10][11] On June 21, Euronext included the company in the AScX-index.[12]

On August 16, 2021, CTP acquired Amsterdam Logistic Cityhub (ALC) in the Western Docklands of Amsterdam, a distribution centre of 125,000 m².[13] ALC a multi-storey logistics hub, designed to shorten the last mile to and from Amsterdam. CTP acquired ALC from real estate investor Paul Vermaat and developer Wim Beelen.[14][13]

On September 8, 2021, CTP finalised two acquisitions in Bulgaria. The company acquired an 11,500 m² production facility in Plovdiv from leading German Tier-1 automotive supplier Willie Elbe and a new-built 31,200 m² warehouse together with a 4,000 m2 office building on Sofia’s ring road. Both buildings are leased long-term to Orbico, a major 3PL operator in the region.[15]
