Career[edit]

Writing[edit]

Having grown up in Indiana, Quandt first worked in the television industry as a camera operator for local PBS affiliate WTIU before becoming host of children's educational show The Friday Zone..[1]

After moving to Los Angeles, Quandt worked for Disney's Maker Studios (formerly known as TheGameStation), hosting and writing shows such as The Daily Byte, Chad Chomp, The Holodeck[2], LORE in a Minute, and FriendZone.[3] He later returned to create the puppet series The Remember Hour.[4]

In 2012, he was hired to write an adaptation of The Brave Little Toaster[5] and a live-action feature based on the classic comic strip Heathcliff[6]

Quandt wrote on Guillermo del Toro's Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia, produced by Dreamworks Animation for Netflix. The series was nominated for multiple Emmys, including winning the 2018 Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Writing For An Animated Program. There he worked as a writing team with Aaron Waltke. The two would continue to collaborate as head writers on Unikitty![7], a spin-off of The Lego Movie, for Warner Bros and Cartoon Network. Then as co-showrunners on the third series in the franchise, Wizards: Tales of Arcadia.[8][9] This series setup the final movie Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans.

Quandt then served as a producer and writer on Star Trek: Prodigy, an animated series for Paramount+ and Nickelodeon created by past collaborators The Hageman Brothers.[10]

Most recently, Quandt worked with Lauren Montgomery to develop and produce the adaptation of Tony DiTerlizzi's young adult trilogy The Search for WondLa. The show is in production at Skydance Animation for AppleTV.[11]

Other Projects[edit]

Since 2014 Quandt has produced and hosted the comedy podcast Goosebuds with co-hosts Paul Ritchey, Kevin Cole, and (formerly) Dominic Moschitti[12]. The show covers 90s young adult books, focusing on the works of R.L. Stine.

In 2022, Quandt released the first issue of the comic book Rite of Rumble: Wrestling With Demons. It was co-created with illustrator Kayla Cline.[13]
