Chamupa Chenuka is a Sri Lankan record executive, businessman, and consultant. He is known for representing a variety of Sri Lankan artists, songwriters, and labels. Chenuka is the founder of the Sri Lankan music company AirXone, which he established in 2019. [1]
Career
Chenuka began his career in the music industry in 2019, when he established Sri Lankan record label AirXone, initially focused on electronic music. The company later expanded into a full-service music aggregator, specializing in music distribution, publishing, and artist management. By 2022, it represented several Sri Lankan artists, including Thilina Ruhunage, Costa Maarley, Radeesh Vandebona, and The Gypsies. [2]
In 2020, Chenuka joined Serandip Music Group, a company focused on hip hop music. [1] In 2021, he co-founded Bonfire Distribution with Sandun Wijemanne Nissanka and other partners from Serandip. [3] The company became one of the first music distribution platforms in Sri Lanka and was developed in partnership with the music technology platform Vydia. [4] Bonfire has represented artists such as Yohani, Chamath Sangeeth, Shan Putha, DJ Mass, and the rapper Drillteam.
Bonfire also distributed the cover version of Manike Mage Hithe by Chamath Sangeeth and Yohani, originally by Satheeshan. [5]
