Chandani Lamichhane (Nepali: चाँदनी लामिछाने) (born on 15 April 1990), is one of the most prominent Nepali runway choreographers in Nepali beauty pageants, modelling and fashion shows.[1][2] She started her career at the age of 17 years in 2007 both as a model and assistance choreographer succeeding her to win the title of Miss Rajdhani in 2009 and she choreographed the event Mr./Miss Kathmandu the same year.[3][4] She is best known for her choreographic work. In a career spanning for more than a decade, she has choreographed and designed a wide range of runway styles in numerous events, beauty pageants and fashion shows and has garnered significant awards. She is the organizer of remarkable events perusing the judge of the events as well. Currently she is the vice president of Nepal Modelling Association, national director of Mr. World for Nepal and chairperson of Runway Nepal.[5]
Early life and career[edit]
Chandani was born on 15 April 1990 in Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal as the youngest child. Her father is a businessperson related to import and export business of handicraft products throughout Europe and most countries all over the world. Though her brother and sister made their career abroad but she has been educated and prolonged her career in hometown. After completion of higher secondary level she started career in modelling and choreography simultaneously and continued her study as well. She acted as a model in numerous advertisements, music videos and TV serials in the beginning of her career along with assistant choreography till 2009. After her title of Miss Rajdhani in 2009 and she choreographed the event Mr./Miss Kathmandu the same year, her professional career mainly focused on choreography.[6] She has choreographed most of the prestigious events related to modelling, fashion shows, beauty pageants and ramp shows in Nepal.[7] She has significantly contributed to broaden the arena of Nepali Runway Choreography in international level [8][9]
Education[edit]
After the completion of higher secondary study from Kathmandu Donbosco College, she began her career in modelling and assistant choreography. In course of her career she graduated in management from DAV college of management. Then she engaged in her professional career for years, but now in 2017, she has been completing her master's degree from Shankar Dev College under affiliation to Tribhuvan University.
