Emperor Paramardideva's son was in love with Bela, the daughter of Prithviraj III, but because of his friendship with gahadavala dynasty and Also Chahamanas want Mahoba, Prithviraj III refused to get his daughter married to Bramhjit. After which Alha - Udal Indrajit etc. Chandela princes with Mahoba(now purbiya) army under chandela crown prince Bramhjit marched to Delhi to get their brother married and kidnapped Prithviraj III's daughter. Later prithviraj III again raided chandela capital but defeated and he had to leave Mahoba empty handed [1][2]

Background[edit]

In the battle of Sirsagarh Paramardideva's son Bramhjit and nephew alha defeated chahmanas and Bramhjit married bela (daughter of Prithviraja). After victory in Battle of Sirsagarh, Paramardideva's son Brahma married Bela, whom he loved.[1][2] But In 1182, in instigation of Mahil, Prithviraj III again attacked Chandelas capital Mahoba. Prithviraj raiding Mahoba (Aryavarta's richest Region) but when he started robbing Maihar devi temple, then Paramardideva attacked on Prithviraj III and defeated him. Prithviraj III lost the war and had to go Delhi empty handed. [3][4][5][6]

Battle[edit]

In 1184, Prithviraj III again attacked Chandelas capital Mahoba. Prithviraj start raiding Mahoba (Aryavarta's richest Region) but when he started robbing Maihar, then Paramardideva attacked on Prithviraj III, Prithviraj lost the war and had to go Delhi empty handed. In the ceremony of Victory he re-built a temple of Mahiyar Devi Sharda maa bhawani and took the title of Dasharana - dhipati (Up capital of Chandelas). [3][4][7][8]

Aftermath[edit]

5 son of Prithviraja prisoned by Alha and beheaded by Bela chauhan for killing his husband martyr Bramha. Chandelas, Gahadavalas, Somvamshis lost huge Army and Family member's. Chandelas lost his Eldest son and crown prince Bramhaji, Udal and prince Indrajit. 2 son's and 1 nephew of Jaichand were killed.

30k wounded with General Alha, Emperor Paramardideva, younger prince Samarjit/ Trailokyavarman. Two sons of Jaichand and lots of awadhians army were killed but in the end Paramardideva defeated Prithviraj III and take tittle of Dasharnadhipati the lord of Dasharna (second up capital). [9]

The 1195 CE other feudatory kings bowed before him. [9]
