Chandrajith Belliappa (born 19 February 1991) is an Indian writer and director who primarily works in the Kannada film industry. He is a former web developer who used to work at SAP Labs. Chandrajith is a member of the writing team “The Seven Odds”, which wrote the script for Kirik Party and Avane Srimannarayana.[1] He made his directorial debut with the Kannada anthology film Katha Sangama (2019 film).[2]
Early life
Chandrajith was born and raised in Madikeri, Karnataka. He completed his schooling at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kodagu. He went on to pursue Information Science Engineering at UVCE, Bangalore.[3] After graduating in 2012, he worked at SAP Labs as a web developer for 4 years.
Film career
Chandrajith was involved in making short films in his free time as a writer, director and actor. He also started writing a blog called Passionophoria which included short stories, poems, conversations and movie reviews. In 2015, Chandrajith got a chance to work with the writing team of Kirik Party[4] and that's when he decided to quit his job and pursue writing and filmmaking full-time.[5] He also worked as an assistant director on the film. He currently works as a screenwriter at Rakshit Shetty’s Paramvah Studios. His latest work is as one of the seven directors in Katha Sangama (2019 film),[6] which is a tribute to the late Kannada director Puttanna Kanagal. Chandrajith also contributed as one of the writers for Avane Srimannarayana.[7]
