Charles Berthoud (bassist)

Charles Berthoud (pronounced BEAR-too) is a British bassist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and YouTube performer and producer. Born in England, he studied physics in college and moved to Boston and attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, at which he studied under Jim Stinnett at Berklee. He is often recognized for his two handed tapping technique, in which both melody and bass lines are played on one bass instrument. He sites American Bassists as influential, including Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorius, and James Jamerson of the Funk Brothers.[1]

He has Four Albums and one EP. As a YouTuber he produces and performs with over 700,000 subscribers and hundreds of instructional and entertaining videos since 2013.[2] Though he plays several bass guitars, his primarily choices are LeFay D-Tuner 4-string bass and LeFay D-Tuner 4-string piccolo bass.
