    ChatEngine is an open source,[1] object oriented, event emitter based platform for building chat applications in JavaScript.[2] It provides chat application components including typing indicators, online presence monitoring, and message history.[1][3][4][5][6][7][8]

    It is built with connectors to PubNub's APIs, particularly Publish/Subscribe Messaging and Storage and Playback. It is an extensible chat SDK and APIs for building 1:1 Chat and group chat quickly.[9] ChatEngine is combined with Artificial intelligence offering like Amazon Lex (text-to-speech) and Amazon Polly.[10][11]

    In May 2018, It partnered with Microsoft Translator, a multilingual machine translation cloud service provided by Microsoft, to integrate the Translator Text API in its offering.[12]
