Cherukolpuzha Convention
Ayiroor-Cherukolpuzha Hindu religious convention also called Hindumatha Parishath', is an annual Hindu religious convention in Kerala organized by Hindumatha Mahamandalam.[1] The week-long cultural - spiritual event has been held annually in February since 1913 featuring discourses, sermons, and discussions on Hindu religion and philosophy generally and the teachings of Chattampi Swamikal in particular.[2] It is the largest Hindu spiritual conference in Kerala.
Held on the banks of Pampa river at Sree Vidhyadhiraja Nagar (Ayroor) near Kozhencherry.
Discourses, sermons, and discussions by spiritual leaders, scholars are complemented by a cultural program that includes devotional music performances and traditional art forms.
2016 Convention
The 104th Ayroor-Cherukolppuzha Hindu convention was inaugurated by Mahamandaleswar Swami Divyananda Saraswathi of Rishikesh Kalasa Ashramam.[3] Former Union Minister of State O. Rajagopal held the presidential speech.[4]
2018 Convention
Swami Vidyaprasanna Theertha of Bengaluru Subramania Madom gave the inaugural address. Kummanam Rajasekharan, BJP state president at the time, delivered the presidential speech. The benedictory address was delivered by Swami Sivaswaropananda of Aluva Adwaitha Ashramam. The chief guest at the function was Swami Pranjananda Theertha of Vazhur Theerthapada Ashramam.[5]
2022 Convention
The 110th convention was inaugurated by then Governor of Goa P. S. Sreedharan Pillai. N. Nagaresh, Kerala High Court judge, gave the keynote speech.[6]
2025 Convention
Mohan Bhagwat the Sarsanghchalak of the far-right Hindutva paramilitary organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh inaugurated the "Hindu Unity Conference" as part of the Parisath and released a book on Narayana Guru. It has been the first time a RSS sarsanghchalak was part of a parishad, although ideology close to the Sangh Parivar is not politically affiliated and members of the United Democratic Front (Kerala) and the Left Democratic Front were reluctant to participate alongside RSS.[7]
