Chiang Kai Shek Suit

The Nationalist Army formed in 1925 (then called the National Revolution Army) had a simple khaki uniform with a rise and fall collar. There were no rank insignia during the Northern Expedition of 1926, but officers were identified by riding boots and Sam Browne cross-belts. and each Nationalist soldier was issued a peaked service cap with the Kuomintang sun emblem.

After the Kuomintang took power in Nanking, the rank insignia was introduced. Whilst Being very similar to the Imperial Japanese Army rank insignia and the Chinese Republican Army insignia, unlike them the rank was to be displayed on the collar. Further similarities include the Japanese Army, arm-of-service colors were displayed on the rank insignia itself. The Japanese displayed their collars on the swallow-collar of the M90 uniform and breast chevrons on the M98.
