Chiltan threat
Koh-i-Chiltan is the habitat of various wild animals. Pakistan's national animal, the markhor, has also been found on Chiltan. Poaching has reached its summit, with Chiltan markhors regularly caught by illegal hunters. These acts have been revealed through pictures of hunted markhor on social media. It is accepted worldwide that no forests and parks would remain nourished after the removal of their flora and fauna; the woodlands are mainly dependent on their climate, which is being altered by deforestation.
Though hunting, encroachment and illegal entry are strictly prohibited by the forest departments, illegal hunting is a major problem in Pakistan, where the Suleiman markhor, Chiltan markhor, and other wildlife face illegal hunting, which are worldwide threats. Numerous incidents have occurred in Chiltan hunting grounds, but no major steps have been taken against them.
