Chimaroke Enyeazu (born April 20, 1989), known professionally as Chima Rok, is an American musician, actor, comedian, film producer, writer and podcast host.[4]

Early life[edit]

Born in Chicago, Illinois[1] to Nigerian parents Madubuike Enyeazu and Christie Enyeazu in a family of three children. His father, Madubuike was a war veteran who fought in the Biafran War, while his mother, Christie was a pharmascist. Chima was youngest of three, his brother Chinaenye "Dede 37" Enyeazu is an artist and fashion designer, while his sister Chioma Enyeazu is a registered nurse. As a kid, Chima found his love for acting when he saw the 1988 romantic comedy film Coming to America and began performing all the characters from the show.[5] He mainly received motivation from his aunt.[6]

Career[edit]

In high school Chima was in the theartre arts program where he starred in many plays and was captain of the Speech Team. Studying under John Ruskin, he learned the Meisner technique at Ruskin Group Theater. Chima credits Ruskin saying "He taught me how to be a professional in Hollywood". To pursue his goals, Chima contacted with a manager in Los Angeles, California.[7][2] Later, he moved to Koreatown. Chima began working right away, landing a role in a reenactment of America's Most Wanted. Chima also starred in Fox's mini series Who Shot Biggie and Tupac as the role of Jimmie Henchman, and Paradise, a short film directed by Roko Belic. Chima is currently working on Hollywood-based and international projects.[6]
