China Review News Agency (Chinese: 中國評論通訊社, abbreviated as 中評社) is a news agency established in Hong Kong in 2005 and has multiple outlets in Taiwan. It is affiliated with China Review Group (中国评论集团), which was founded in 1998.[1]
The key player in its founding was Wang Daohan, the former mayor of Shanghai, who also selected the name of the news agency. In the 2010s, it was questioned by Western media to whether it should occupy the limited spots for overseas (foreign) media in press conferences of the Chinese government.[1]
