China Unicom Hong Kong (Chinese: 中國聯通(香港)) is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Unicom. Up until October 2018, China Unicom Hong Kong had 870 thousand subscribers, making it the 5th largest mobile network operator and also the largest MVNO mobile network operator in Hong Kong.[1][2][3][4]
China Unicom Hong Kong has obtained licenses to offer external virtual telecommunications services, international network services, and mobile virtual network operation services from the Office of the Communications Authority.[5] As a MVNO carrier, network service of China Unicom Hong Kong is currently powered by Hutchison Telecommunications.[6]

1-Card-2-Numbers service[edit]
As a wholly owned subsidiary of China Unicom, the 2nd largest mobile network operator in China, China Unicom Hong Kong is the first carrier that provides the ''1 Card 2 Numbers'' service in Hong Kong, which allows customers to use one SIM card with both Mainland China and Hong Kong numbers embedded.[7]
Mainland China Customer Services[edit]
Currently, China Unicom Hong Kong owns 28 stores, 3 of which are in the Shenzhen port area. The stores in Shenzhen offer the same level of services as the stores in Hong Kong, providing subscription, change-of-plan and other after-sales services, as well as sales of handsets, and accessories.[8]

According to Apple's official website, China Unicom Hong Kong has become one of Apple's seven recognized LTE network operators in Hong Kong since 2019.[10]
Incidents[edit]
- China Unicom Hong Kong's first "crash" incident occurred at 10:50 AM on February 27, 2018. China Unicom Hong Kong's network operation center found that a large number of customers were not able to use their mobile voice, SMS and data services. At 1 PM, the network operation center started with the repairs and was able to resume the service at 2:20 PM. At 4:30 PM, all services returned to normal. The entire "crash" lasted for 5 hours and 40 minutes, and a total of 138,150 customers were affected, accounting for 15.78% of its subscribers.[11]
- The second "crash" incident occurred at 11:15 AM on March 31, 2018. The situation was similar with the previous incident. By 6:45 PM, all services returned to normal, and the entire fault lasted 7 hours and 25 minutes where 138,150 customers were affected.[11]
