Chinnodu Peddodu is a 1988 Telugu-language comedy film, produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under the Sridevi Movies banner,[2] and directed by Relangi Narasimha Rao.[3] The film stars Rajendra Prasad, Chandra Mohan, Kushboo,[4] and music composed by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam.[5] The film is a remake of the Tamil film Chinna Thambi Periya Thambi (1987). The film was recorded as a Super Hit at the box office.[6]
Plot
In a village, their lives, two brothers, Chinnodu (Rajendra Prasad) & Peddodu (Chandra Mohan), along with their grandmother and work at a spinning mill. The brothers often perform naughty things and spend their life with fun & joy. Suddenly, their maternal uncle Jagannatham (Prabhakar Reddy) visits after 20 years, when the brothers try to woo his daughter Kavitha (Kushboo). But here Jaganatham reveals that Kavitha’s alliance is already fixed with the mill owner’s (Suthi Veerabhadra Rao) son Murali (Sudhakar). Listening to it, Jaganatham & his family are thrown out by his mother due to his refusal of the match with the brothers. She even prohibits the brothers from attending the marriage. At present, both of them are compelled to go to the wedding as workers on the side of the bridegroom. Just before the marriage, Jaganatham & his wife Parvathi (P.R.Varalakshmi) die in a car accident, the entire property is called off, and the bridegroom's father cancels the marriage. The brothers take Kavitha with them, where she begins a simple lifestyle with her cousins and grandmother.
Eventually, Murali wants to possess Kavitha as his concubine when he is beaten black and blue by the brothers, and both of them are fired. Both brothers again try to woo Kavitha, but Kavitha loves Chinnodu. Meanwhile, Peddodu happens to rescue a widow, Lakshmi (Talluri Rameswari) from dire straits, and she falls for him. Murali traps Peddodu to cut sandalwood with his men Teelukondi (Nutan Prasad), and he accepts to buy luxuries for Kavitha. But by mistake, Chinnodu is arrested for the crime, and their grandmother dies due to it. Everyone blames Peddodu for the deed, for which he has to leave the house. Both brothers are fired. Chinnodu serves a 3-month term, upon his release, Peddodu arranges the wedding of Chinnodu & Kavitha and also convinces Lakshmi for remarriage. But unfortunately, Kavitha is kidnapped by Murali, Chinnodu & Peddodu rescues her, when Murali dies at the hands of Peddodu. At last, Peddodu successfully makes the marriage of Chinnodu & Kavitha. Peddodu also marries Lakshmi, and surrenders to the police. Finally, he is sentenced for 5 years and released in the climax.
