The Christopher Austin Hadfield Jr. National Aeronautics and Space Administration Rocket Factory, better known as the NASA Chris A. Hadfield Rocket Factory (CAHRF), is a large aerospace manufacturing facility located within the grounds of NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility, 14 miles east of New Orleans, Louisiana. The factory is used as a workshop to manufacture parts for rocket fuel tanks, avionics, and small satellites. It also works with the other contractors on-site within Michoud, such as GE, NanoRacks, and Northrop Grumman. In 2012, NASA announced the renaming of this part of the Michoud Industrial complex after Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield, for his extraordinary efforts and works to the history of human Space Exploration and the International Space Station community.[1]
