Chris Doheny
Chris Doheny is an Australian musician and songwriter.
Career
Doheny first found fame as the frontman of Melbourne-based pop rock band Geisha in the 1980s, where the band released two charting studio albums. Following Geisha's disbandment in 1988, Doheny began songwriting for Australian acts such as Daryl Braithwaite, James Blundell and Lee Kernaghan. In 1989, Doheny joined Swedish band Roxette as a touring bassist. The following year, Doheny formed a new band, All the Young Dudes, with Pierre Gigliotti, formerly of Pseudo Echo. The pair released a mini-album in 1991.
In 1993, Doheny formed hard rock project Dragonfly alongside Craig Harnath, formerly of Kids in the Kitchen and Chocolate Starfish, releasing two extended plays. In 1994, Doheny released his first solo single, "More Than a Game", which was used as the theme song for the Nine Network's The Footy Show for its entire 25-year run.
