Christian Figueroa is an American political activist and student organizer from California. He is an undergraduate student at Stanford University.[1] Figueroa was one of the youngest national delegates to the 2024 Democratic National Convention.[2]
Early life and education
Figueroa is the son of a firefighter and a public school teacher, and has two younger siblings.[3] He is a current student at Stanford University and is from Southern California.[4]
Career
Figueroa began his involvement in political activism at 13 years old following a Kamala Harris 2020 presidential campaign rally.[3] He later became the national press secretary of the College Democrats of America and was an organizing intern at the California Democratic Party.[2]
Most notably, Figueroa was one of the youngest national delegates to the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois. He endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris following the withdrawal of Democratic candidate President Joe Biden from the 2024 United States presidential election and pledged his delegate vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.[5]
Figueroa also served as the Elections Commissioner of the 2025 Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU) Elections. During his tenure, Figueroa was alleged to exhibit candidate favoritism. According to several ASSU Senators, Figueroa “spoke negatively about candidates’ characters and aspects of their identity, specifically gender identity,” including the use of “transphobic language when referring to a candidate.” Figueroa issued an apology.[6]
