Christina Angela Ntulo

Tina Ntulo ( born Christine Agenla Ntulo) is a Ugandan mental health practitioner, development worker and human rights advocate.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Education and early career

Ntulo holds a degree in Psychology and Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and a Master of Public Heath degree.

She began her career in Nairobi, Kenya, where she served as head teacher at St. Peter's School. During her time there, she introduced an early intervention program for children with learning intellectual disabilities.

In 2001, she joined the Federation of Women Lawyers ( FIDA Kenya), where she established a counseling department that provided psychological support services to women and girls affected by gender based violence.[2][1]

Mental health in Uganda

After returning to Uganda, Ntulo became involved in community menta health advocacy and programing. She worked with BasicNeeds, where she helped develop community mental health initiatives in Uganda.[7][8]

She also participated in advocacy efforts related to mental health legislation reform, including campaigns surrounding the replacement of the Mental Health Treatment Act of 1964 with newer mental health legislation.[7][9]

Ntulo later served as Deputy Director of StrongMinds Uganda, where she worked on expanding access to community based interpersonal Psychotherapy programs for women, adolescents and refugee communities.[10][11][10]

Malachite Center foe Mental Heath

In 2023, Ntulo founded thw Malachite Center For Mental Health, a mental health social enterprise based in Ntida, Kampala.[12]

The organization focuses on workplace mental health, emotional literacy programs in schools and access to therapy and psychiatric services. Ntulo also leads the Lead In First leadership program, which incorporates trauma informed approaches and behavioral science in leadership development.[13][14]
