Life[edit]

Bockamp finished his high school in 1972 and then studied medicine in Cologne and Bonn.[3]

In 1980 he finished his PhD in experimental dermatology.[3]

He then studied theology in Rome, Italy and became priest in 1987.[3]

In 1990 he finished his theological studies with a work on embryos.[3]

Bockamp then worked for Opus Dei study centers in Cologne and Bonn and also participated in development aid in Kenya.[3]

Public Media Appearances[edit]

Bockamp argues publicly in German media publications that the secret society Opus Dei is not a "secret society" as members are suppoed to be allowed to talk about the organisation and their membership.[4] However, it is not common practice for Opus Dei members to publicly admit their membership. Furthermore, Opus Dei is generally understood as a "secret society" by critical observers.[5][6][7]
