Cian O’Byrne is the first grandchild of Famous Irish Broadcaster, Gay Byrne. He was born on the 15th of September 2004[1] Cian has represented his grandfather at different events and has appeared in public numerous times on the chat show, The Late Late Show. In 2018, he was interviewed alongside his grandmother on The Ray D'Arcy Show. He also helped launch his grandmother’s first ever children’s book in 2016 aged 12.[2] In November 2019, Cian was publicly praised by many famous figures in Irish society following the death of his grandfather, Gay Byrne.[3] He was praised for his dignity and leadership as he played a central role in his grandfathers funeral[4] President Michael D. Higgins has described Cian as “a remarkable young man”.
