CitiusTech is a healthcare technology company, based in Mumbai, India.[2] It was founded in 2005 by Rizwan Koita and Jagdish Moorjani.[3] It is a privately held organization with a majority holding by Baring Private Equity Asia.[4]
CitiusTech provides services for software development, data management and analytics solutions to healthcare providers, medical technology and life sciences companies. [2] CitiusTech has offices in the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, India, and Singapore. [5] CitiusTech employs 3000 people as of June 2019. The company posted $175 million in revenue with a 27-30% operating margin in fiscal 2019.[2]
History
CitiusTech was founded in 2005 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India by Rizwan Koita[6][7] and Jagdish Moorjani [8][9] who were fellow students at Indian Institutes of Management, Mumbai.[2]The two had previously co-founded Transworks, a BPO company, in 1999, which they sold out to Aditya Birla Group in 2003. [10][5]
In 2014, General Atlantic invested about $100 million in CitiusTech in return for a minority stake.[11] General Atlantic exited CitiusTech in 2019, when Baring Private Equity Asia acquired 80% share of the company.[12]
In 2017, William Winkenwerder Jr. MD [13][14] was appointed Chairman of the company, after having served on CitiusTech’s Board of Directors.[2]
In 2018, CitiusTech acquired FluidEdge Consulting, a healthcare-focused management consulting company.[15]
In 2019, CitiusTech was one of the Indian companies to enter List of unicorn startup companies under IT healthcare firm.[16]
Services
CitiusTech provides software development, interoperability, data management and analytics services to healthcare organizations. Its key products are:
- BI-Clinical, a healthcare analytics and reporting platform[17]
- H-Scale, a healthcare data management platform[18]
- SCORE+, which is a HEDIS reporting and performance management system[19]
CitiusTech offers management consulting services through its subsidiary FluidEdge Consulting. [2]
CitiusTech has developed a predictive analytics solution for a large US hospital to enable real-time Covid-19 tracking.[20]
Corporate Social Responsibility
- Association with Tata Memorial Centre to support for the use of Percutaneous Intravenous Central Catheters (PICC lines) for paediatric cancer patients in 2017[21]
- Set up a Healthcare Innovation Fund in partnership with IIT Bombay’s Society for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (SINE) in 2016[22]
