Script error: No such module "AfC submission catcheck". cityLAB is an architecture and urban design research center housed within University of California, Los Angeles' Department of Architecture and Urban Design.[1] Under the leadership of Dr. Dana Cuff,[2] cityLAB produces openly accessible [3] research that prioritizes spatial justice.

History[edit]

Founded in 2006,[4] cityLAB's research foci include spatial justice, the post-suburban metropolis, rethinking green, urban sensing, and new infrastructures.[5] Often taking the form of "urban interventions," cityLAB's research comprises publications, legislation reform, exhibitions, design competitions, workshops, and demonstration projects.

Notable Projects[edit]

Notable projects for the Los Angeles area and beyond include research on "Backyard Homes," which contributed to Accessory Dwelling Unit legislation reform,[6] proposals for affordable and supportive housing on public school lands,[7] and efforts to raise awareness of and imagine new solutions for student housing insecurity at UCLA.
