City Engineering College was started in 2001 by the Jayanagar Education Society.[citation needed] The college is located off Kanakapura Main Road, near Bangalore.[edition needed]
The college is the sister project of AMC Engineering College, Bangalore.[citation needed] It started a civil engineering branch in the 2011–12 academic year.[clarification needed]
