Citybus route 12A is a bus route in Hong Kong operated by Citybus, serving between Tamar Street and MacDonnell Road via Garden Road and Cotton Tree Drive.
This route is the first franchised bus route operated by Citybus and also the first non-cross harbour bus route in Hong Kong Island not run by China Motor Bus.[1]
History[edit]
China Motor Bus[edit]
This route was established in 1961 and was run by China Motor Bus from United Pier to MacDonnell Road. A full day service was provided at first. In 1982 the night and holiday service was cancelled,[2] the service was substituted by minibus route 1A. In 1985 the terminal was moved to the Central pier, and moved to Exchange Square a year later. [3] The route was discontinued in 1987.
