City Wallet Pvt. Ltd., operating as CityPay, is a Nepalese financial technology company and licensed payment service provider (PSP) headquartered in Kathmandu, Nepal. It operates a digital wallet platform that supports remittances, bank transfers, utility bill payments, QR code merchant payments, and other financial services.
The company is licensed by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) as a Payment Service Provider.
History
City Wallet Pvt. Ltd. received its PSP operating license from the Nepal Rastra Bank on 2080/07/15 (corresponding to late 2023), with a paid-up capital of NPR 50 million.[1]
In February 2024, CityPay partnered with the Education Consultancy Association of Nepal (EPCAN) to facilitate overseas education-related payments.
In September 2025, CityPay integrated with Fonepay, Nepal's largest interoperable payment network. This made CityPay the 10th digital wallet to join the Fonepay ecosystem, enabling users to access over 1.7 million merchant outlets nationwide through Fonepay QR codes. The partnership was announced on 2 September 2025 and was accompanied by a promotional campaign offering rewards and lucky draws.[2][3]
CityPay also serves as the payment processor for Pathao Nepal.

CityPay provides the following services through its mobile application (available on Android and iOS):
- International and domestic remittances (including payouts via City Express Money Transfer and other partners)
- Instant bank transfers to and from commercial and development banks in Nepal
- Utility and government bill payments (electricity, water, internet, television, taxes, and fees)
- QR code payments supporting Fonepay, NepalPay, and Smart QR
- Mobile top-ups for NTC, Ncell, and Smart Cell (with cashback offers)
- In-app bookings for flights, bus tickets, and hotels
