Clash of Queens: Dragons Rise is a mobile massively multiplayer online strategy video game developed by Elex-Tech[1] in 2015 for Android, and released on iOS in June 2016. As of July 2016, the game has been downloaded approximately 4,000,000 times.
Gameplay[edit]
The basic goal of the game is to form an alliance with other players in your “kingdom” and to work together to occupy the “throne”. Each player is responsible for developing his or her own castle and army, but may receive help from their alliance to speed up the process. Buildings within each player's castle require “food”, “lumber”, and “iron” resources to upgrade. In contrast to other MMOs, players do not use in-base resource gathering points, but rather send troops outside their castle walls to gather specified resources. As buildings reach higher levels, the upgrade times progressively increase; players may use “gold” to decrease upgrade times and gain advantages against other alliances.
The game is particularly notable for the way it differentiates itself from other MMOs by giving female players an important role. Players are able to earn “roses” by killing monsters and accomplishing other quests. They then may give these roses to female players in the game. The female player with the most roses is then named the “Queen” and granted certain tactical advantages for as long as her tenure lasts.
